How is public policy shaped at the intersection of science and faith? How do we have rational, if difficult conversations about emotionally-charged issues that effect all of society? The Abortion Dilemma looks at one such issue and was written to reduce suffering. Few issues inspire emotions and controversy in the way abortion does; even the word can bring discomfort. Nevertheless, most people know of someone who has undergone the procedure, with the majority of abortion recipients being women of faith. This book looks at the ethical, moral, and scriptural issues surrounding this common procedure and seeks to set straight the vast amount of misinformation and misunderstanding. The book attempts to lessen the burden of decision for women who are considering the procedure yet are trapped between what they are told their faith should be and the honest needs of their lives. It aims to reduce shame and guilt and to provide a pathway to heal rifts caused by the false ethical and moral schism surrounding the issue.
